We are a Republic, and Sacramento is our Indomitable Home.

Sacramento Republic FC exists to make the Sacramento region into the most inspiring, energetic and rewarding place to live, work and play. The club was founded in 2012 and played its first home match on April 26, 2014 in front of a sold-out crowd of 20,231 at Hughes Stadium.

The current home of Republic FC is Papa Murphy’s Park, located on the grounds of Cal Expo; built and opened by the club in June 2014. On the pitch, Sacramento Republic FC are the 2014 USL Champions and the 2016 Western Conference Regular Season Champions. Off the pitch, the club has led USL in nearly every attendance and revenue category.

Proven Leadership

For more than a year, Republic FC worked tirelessly alongside Mayor Steinberg to identify a new lead investor to strengthen our bid to bring Major League Soccer to Sacramento. We are thrilled that we have found that new lead investor in Ron Burkle. Along with his co-investor Matt Alvarez and a strong local ownership group led by Kevin Nagle – who stepped up for this club when it was needed most – no city is better prepared for MLS than Sacramento.
